Terms of Service

By accessing or using SpecLayer products and services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organisation.

SpecLayer provides API governance, documentation, and Kubernetes monitoring services, including: • SpecDoc — spec registry, governance policy enforcement, developer portals, and CI/CD integration • KlusterAlert — Kubernetes cluster monitoring, alerting rules, and notification delivery We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Services at any time, with reasonable notice to users where practical.

You must create an account to use the Services. You are responsible for: • Providing accurate registration information • Keeping your password confidential • All activity that occurs under your account • Notifying us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Accounts are not transferable.

You may not use the Services to: • Violate any applicable law or regulation • Upload malicious code, malware, or content that infringes third-party rights • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or data • Reverse engineer or resell the Services without permission • Use the Services in a way that degrades availability for other users We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

You retain ownership of the OpenAPI specs, governance rules, runbooks, and other content ("Your Content") you upload to the Services. By uploading content, you grant SpecLayer a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Services to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload Your Content and that it complies with applicable laws.

SpecLayer and its licensors own all rights in the Services, including the software, documentation, and trademarks. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to use our trademarks or branding. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Services except as expressly permitted in writing by SpecLayer.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. Taxes may apply depending on your location. If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry the charge and notify you by email. Continued failure to pay may result in downgrade to the Free plan or suspension of your account. Refunds are not provided for partial months. Annual plans that are cancelled within 14 days of the start of a new billing cycle may be eligible for a pro-rated refund — contact [email protected].

The Free plan is provided as-is without any uptime guarantee. We may place additional restrictions on free plan usage (such as rate limits) without prior notice. Free plan accounts that have been inactive for 12 months may be deleted after 30 days' notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpecLayer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The Services are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

You may cancel your account at any time from the Billing settings page. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. On termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or an in-product notification. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
